2019 Jewellery Trends

Jewellery Trends

With a new year underway, Perth Jewellers Diamonds & Pearls recommend that it is a new opportunity to wear something different is now arising. While you can still wear your favorite pieces from last year, there’s also no reason why you can’t find out what the top 2019 jewellery trends are, then head to your local jewellers to prepare yourself for the year ahead.

Brooches

Traditionally, brooches were often something that those 50 and above wore. They were a stylish piece on most blazers but did tend to have a niche market. This year, however, the younger market is all about the brooch – the bolder, the better. Fortunately, if you can’t find one hidden amongst your grandma’s jewellery box, you’re bound to see a few exquisite pieces at jewellers. You can then match them with your favourite outfit and look the part.

Crescent Hoop Earrings

Forget closed hoop earrings or studs. This year, we are all about crescent hoops. Crescent hoop earrings are similar to traditional hoops, but they don’t form a full loop. Instead, they finish in more of a moon shape without connecting to the other end. The crescent hoop market is broad, but the most common option you will find at jewellers is a thick, gold set that pairs beautifully with casual or formal attire.

Open Cuff Necklaces

In 2018, collars and cuffs took the market by storm. Everyone wanted a thick band as a necklace, and it tended to be more common among the younger age bracket of 20-35. This year, however, we are seeing a resurgence in open cuff necklaces. While many jewellers are yet to stock these striking pieces, they are slowly making their way into the public domain. They look similar to a thick, solid band, but are open at one end as a style statement.

Chunky Bracelets

If you think back to your childhood – or even the period between the 1970s and the 1990s, you will remember those big, thick, chunky bracelets fondly. You weren’t the epitome of style if you didn’t have one, but then the trend abruptly dropped off. Now, they’re back. You can stand out from the crowd with big, chunky, plastic bracelets, or still indulge in gold or silver with the same effect. For an additional touch of style, layer them up.

Go Sentimental

Sentimental jewellery tends to mean a lot to most people, but sometimes, it’s not something you would want to wear. Not only is it precious, but it’s often not all that easy to match to your favourite outfits. Fortunately, that no longer matters. Wear your great grandma’s ring, your dad’s lucky coin around your neck, or your aunty’s pearls. Anything sentimental is now the fashion statement of the year.

Jewellery trends come and go, and if you like having your finger on the pulse of what’s hot and what’s not, then become a frequent visitor to jewellers. You’re sure to find the latest and greatest pieces to help your outfit pop in 2019.
